In 1995 in Rheda-Wiedenbruck, Germany, Prince Bentheim Tecklenburg and Leo Lubke began manufacturing upholstered furniture under the name COR. Cor, Latin for heart, was chosen as the company's name because three hearts adorned the coat of arms of one of the founders. A year later, the company was honored with the first of many awards, and so began its successful history. Cor has a range of furniture that has already been counted among design icons - Conseta, the sofa-chameleon produced continuously since 1964, or Zyklus, a collection-based seating collection designed by Peter Maly. Combining classic design derived from the Bauhaus and the expressive forms of young designers with the highest quality of exclusive manufactory, COR plays an important role on the scene of European consumer design.
