Description

From a piece of shell that has been broken and smoothed by waves, Patricia Urquiola has designed a seating collection for both the home and public spaces. As the name suggests, a strong Scandinavian influence is evident here with references to Arne Jacobsen and the inlets of the north coast represented in the long cutout. Like a natural cycle in which the shell is reborn by time and water, the chair becomes an armchair and then a stool. Its broken form and abstract concept together become the subject of design: the smooth lines that support and surround it are picked out in decorative seams in harmony with the essence of the chair's structure. Swivel chair made of injected flame-retardant foam on an internal steel frame. Square base of powder-coated steel. Available with fixed or designed to add a cotton gel quilt.
