Description

From a piece of shell that has been broken and smoothed by waves, Patricia Urquiola has designed a seating collection for both the home and public spaces. As the name suggests, a strong Scandinavian influence is evident here with references to Arne Jacobsen and the inlets of the north coast represented in the long cutout. Like a natural cycle in which a shell is reborn by time and water, the chair becomes an armchair and then a stool. Its broken form and abstract concept together become the subject of design: the smooth lines that support and surround are picked out in decorative seams in harmony with the essence of the chair's structure. Injected flame-retardant foam on an inner steel frame covered with fabric or leather.
