Description

Husk is inspired by the outer shell of maize. Fields of maize criss-cross the landscape of northern Italy, particularly around the city of Udine. Maize is used as a raw material all over the world and takes many forms. For the designer, Marc Thorpe, it was an opportunity to translate the architecture of the corn ear husk into a globally recognisable and accepted everyday object. Injected flame-retardant polyurethane foam on an internal steel and wood frame, PVC glides. Covers are not removable.
