A continuous flow of curved lines, a pictorial form drawn without taking the pencil off the paper. The original 'doughnut' that inspired the sculpture: squashed and reworked, using irony to go beyond the usual approach to industrial design. Then the object itself: padding and bespoke upholstery on an internal fibreglass frame reveal the interplay between the technical and expressive qualities of the design. Its endless lines are delicate but strong, perfectly in tune with the surface and form. The fabric reaches into the surrounding space, magnifying and enhancing the materiality of the piece, but without interrupting or overwhelming its fluidity.
