Description
Frame-Shift is a new Moroso bookcase designed by architects Oscar and Gabriele Buratti. It is a simple system consisting of several repeating elements, overlapping vertically to form compositions with horizontal shelves. "The multi-level structure is created from overlapping horizontal lines placed at intervals, with sliding doors and backs that can be positioned as desired to create open and closed compartments," said Oscar and Gabriele Buratti. "The magic of the sliding panels makes it an extremely versatile piece of furniture, and its elegance is enhanced by the sophisticated design of the double-sided rail. "Using an open frame of lightweight metal, up to five overlapping levels can be arranged for different uses. Since the sliding panels can be used on both sides, the bookcase can be placed against a wall or stand in the middle of a room. The flexibility of Frame-Shift offers great freedom to arrange the layout of the house in different and complex ways. Two levels, for example, can create a low cabinet or TV stand, three will make it ideal for placing behind a sofa or as a wall cabinet, while four or five will create a large bookcase, standing against a wall or used as a room divider.
