The Othello table impresses with its unconventional form. The solid ash legs with mocha or wenge stain have the appearance of geometric sculpture. The tops, on the other hand, are soft and curved in both round and rectangular versions. The most distinctive feature of the Othello tables is the triangular wooden construction with clean edges, beautifully reflected in the diamond workmanship along the edges of the tops. Poltrona Frau chose two different materials for the tops. Tinted glass, translucent and light, emphasises the architectural solidity of the legs. Fior di Pesco, a particularly prized variety of marble, attracts attention with its rich and delicate veining that reveals translucent, almost transparent areas in natural light. An alternative is the equally prized golden Calacatta marble. Othello glass tables are integrated with visible spacers in brushed stainless steel. In the marble version, with a polished or semi-polished finish, the underside of the tabletop is reinforced with an engineered mesh to guarantee its strength. The top is reinforced with HPL laminate.
