The spring system of the Chester sofa consists of steel double-cone springs, placed by hand and attached to jute straps on a support structure of seasoned beech wood. The seat is padded with rubberised horsehair, and the backrest and armrests with hand-formed vegetable horsehair. The seat cushions are made of goose down. The legs can be spherical or tall, with a beech finish with dark walnut stain or lacquered black beech. Leather-covered legs are also available.
